Elyse and Allan’s fabulous Winchester wedding took place back in June. The weather supplied us with a mix of sunshine and spells of rain. However thanks to a very relaxed schedule and the assistance of an umbrella or two, the day’s plan was easily fitted around the short but sometime heavy showers.
I started off with Elyse in Winchester at Hannah’s B&B for the bridal preparations. This lovely boutique B&B right in the centre of Winchester offered Elsye and the girls plenty of space and comfort in which to get ready and gave me some gorgeous backdrops for the photos. I left the girls early to make the short journey to Twyford and meet up with Allan and the guys at the Phoenix Inn. After they’d had their breakfast and a few photos, it was a 10 minute stroll over to the gorgeous village church for the ceremony.
Following the wedding service, there was a short pause in proceedings for the rain to stop. Fortunately there was champagne on hand, so nobody seemed to mind hanging around. The guests then made their way to the Phoenix Inn for the first phase of the reception while Elyse, Allan and I made a little detour for some portraits in the gorgeous Hampshire countryside.
At the Phoenix Inn there was a buffet to recharge the guests, bowling for entertainment and then speeches in the beer garden. In the evening everyone transferred to the centre of Winchester for the wedding breakfast at The Chesil Rectory restaurant. After the meal I whisked Elyse and Allan over to Winchester Cathedral for some final evening portraits before returning them to their guests to finish off their evening.
